Day 7: Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

We could not decide what we wanted to do in New York state, but knew we wanted to visit. We knew that going to the city would be trouble with a car and there would never be enough time in a single day to see very much. While driving back from Rhode Island, Tara did some searching on the Blackberry and we decided to go see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Jaxon was so excited in the morning to go that he was trying to help Mark move faster and push the stroller with him.  But then he decided it would be more fun to eat it!

Our first stop was Ellis Island. We got some great pictures on the ferry and on the island. We went on a short tour and found out some interesting facts about how immigrants would be processed on the island. The building itself is quite beautiful.

Our next stop was to see Lady Liberty. Mark has such a good eye for pictures and took some great ones-we took a lot! You can tell by my hair in one of the pictures how windy it was outside today.

That night when we got back to Stroudsburg, we decided to a hibachi (Funny side note, Joey from “Friends” has done a commercial for “Ichiban” – leave a comment for what “Ichiban” was). Jaxon was not sure what to think when they set the table on fire.
