Rewind 2 months ago to when we took this vacation. I uploaded pictures back in July and am just getting around to posting about our trip.
Our original plan was to travel to Colorado and see my grandmother, but with the fires and health issues, we decided to stick closer to home. Not our first choice for a family vacation, but we loved all the relaxing downtime we had together. Husband even commented, "I could do this every so often." :)
We started our trip in Abilene. Mini and Zu were not in town for very long :(, but we did get to spend some time with Aunt Julie.
At Mini and Zu's:
Jaxon LOVED swimming everyday!!
We enjoyed a trip to the library where Jaxon scored this way cute hat!
Squeezed all four of us into the Mini Cooper. It was tight!!
Attempted to play outside in the ridiculous temperatures
Ate some barbecue
Did LOTS of swimming
Got donuts with daddy
Watched some tractor and truck movies:)
Swam some more! I'm telling ya--he is a little fish:)
After Abilene we headed to Coach and Dede's house in Amarillo. We stopped in Lubbock on the way and had lunch with our dear friends, the Nelsons. And we did not get one picture with them:(. We do not get to see them often enough and we enjoyed our time.
At Coach and Dede's we:
fed the fish
played outside
ran down the hill
helped Dede make pancakes
visited the Discovery Center
did some dancing while we were there:)
allowed time for daddy to play
played on the playground
at pizza with Coach
visited the butterflies
did some walking
rode the "tractor"
and played some more!
We stopped at this rest stop area on the way back to Fort Worth and let Jaxon get some energy out.
We had such a good time relaxing and not really having a schedule of to-do's. Our next vacation will most likely not be like this, but it was perfect for now! It was actually probably the first vacation that we have gone on that we didn't feel as though we needed another vacation when we got home:).
looks like y'all had a lot of fun!
