Mark, Jaxon, my grandma, and I were 10 exits away from Silverthorne when we came to a sudden stop in the road. The weather wasn't terrible but traffic was not moving. So we sat and crawled along the highway. They had everyone exit the highway and take another route (through a pass) to get to the other side of this tunnel that was shut down. (We found out later it was shut down to do a hazardous waste spill). It was a long trip. What was supposed to take 2 hours took 4 1/2 hours. It was bumper to bumper traffic and crazy. My grandma made the comment that she thought all of the United States was on that mountain.
My parents were smart and stopped before the stalled traffic for a restroom break. We saw that we were so close, we thought we would wait. Well, I ended up having to pee in a cup (thank goodness we had one) and Jaxon had an explosive poopy diaper. Ahh, the memories:)!!
We finally made it to our destination and settled in for the week. We met my aunt, uncle, and cousin in Silverthorne. My mom, grandma, and aunt didn't ski and kept Jaxon so Mark and I could go. We had a lot of fun!!! Mark and I only skied 2 days, while the others went for 3. My nephew, Talen, took ski lessons and did so good. He spent the 3rd day skiing with my dad, brother, and sister-in-law.
We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed our Christmas and our time together. Here are a lot of a ton of pictures taken over the week!
Mark, Jaxon, and I left on Christmas morning to drive back to Fort Worth. It was a loooong trip but we wanted to have a day of "rest" before our next trip. Jaxon did so good in the car! It wasn't our first choice for how we wanted to spend that day, but at least we were together.

What a wonderful trip! That's so great that everyone was able to be together!
