"over the river and through the woods"

Warning: long post with lots of pictures--don't say I didn't warn ya:)!!

One of husband's favorite things to do growing up was spend time at his grandparent's river-house in Banera, TX at Camp Bandina. We took Jaxon there when he was 2 months old and we decided to go last weekend and visit his grandpa.

We stopped at the outlets in San Marcus on the way down to see if we could find a rug for Madelyn's nursery. We didn't have any luck, but Jaxon sure did finding some cars to "ride" in. This was great for the energetic little one who had been cooped up (but had done so well) in the car.

One of his favorite places to ride--daddy's shoulders.

Saturday morning after breakfast we headed to the river to do some swimming. Husband had this great idea to bring our pop up shade tent that Jaxon and I sometimes use for shade in the backyard. It was so easy to transport and well worth it!

Papa (Jaxon's new name for Grandpa Rich) enjoyed it as well:).

We also took our kite, but the wind wasn't too cooperative.

Jaxon enjoyed having Papa read a few books to him!

Sunday was a fun day filled with counting the heads on the wall,

lots of dancing,

fun with the pillows,

more river time,

(he would jump up and then land flat on his rear--ouch!)

(check out how full his diaper was--it was a good cushion for him though!)

(Papa watching from the car)

and the traditional Sunday night dinner, Dairy Queen! It was a great day had by all.

We got some really cute pictures of Jaxon with Papa!

And some with Daddy, Papa, and Jaxon

As we were walking out the door to leave, one of the camp residents was out front on his "digger" as Jaxon would call it. He put Jaxon up on the seat so he could "drive" it and he was thrilled:).

Husband is one of those guys that saves his birthday and Christmas money for a long time (like 3 years), so we stopped on our way home and picked up some toys tools for him to play with use. Good thing we had husband's parent's suburban!

Thanks, Papa for such a wonderful and relaxing weekend! We enjoyed getting away and spending time with you. We love you and look forward to coming back soon!!
