Day 2: Monroe, Louisiana to Dawsonville, Georgia
After getting the car checked and fixed (quick and painless-thank you, God) we were all happy to get on the road. Jaxon also felt better so we were thankful for that!
We stopped in Vicksburg, Mississippi to tour the battle grounds. We bought an audio CD and listened as we drove through the area. It was interesting to see the actual places soldiers fought during the Civil War. Jaxon enjoyed the cannons.
We got out at the U.S.S. Cairo and walked around a bit.
It was a long day driving, but it was a good day. Jaxon did so well in the car and husband and I got some good quality talk time. I also got some good naps:)!
We were going to stay at husband's cousin's house, but since we were not sure if Jaxon was contagious, we opted not to go to them. We went north of Atlanta and stayed at his Aunt and Uncle's gorgeous home. They were so welcoming and hospitable. We got to their house pretty late and Jaxon LOVED that Aunt Sara had toys to play with. He also LOVED getting to stay up hours past his bedtime and play.

I LOVE that y'all travel! You remind us of us! Hahahaha! :) Especially the vomit bug on road trips. I cannot tell you how many times that was part of our trips. Thankfully, not so much any more!!!
