Day One: Fort Worth to Monroe, Lousiana
Two weeks ago Jaxon, husband, and I set off on our journey across the states to visit Katie & Jeremy (husband's sister and brother-in-law). As you can see, Jaxon was ready to go. Our first stop was Monroe, LA, about 5 hours away.
Not very far into the start of our journey our real adventure started. Jaxon got sick and threw up. Then he did it again, and again, and again, and again, and yet again! You can see below the many different outfits he wore that night and how happy he was during it all. We missed getting a one change of clothes in a picture, but you get the idea.
As if him throwing up wasn't enough, there was more. We had agreed to take some boxes (big boxes, that only fit in our front seats) to Atlanta to drop them off at husband's aunts house. They filled up the back seat so I really couldn't get in the back to sit by him. After the 2nd or 3rd time he threw up, we had to pull on the side of the road since we were in the middle of nowhere. We decided to put (or shove) the boxes in the front seat so I could sit in the back. As we were moving everything, we noticed some smoke coming from husband's car.
We had just spent 2 days taking his car in to make sure that everything was good for our trip. He has a lot of miles on his car. I called my older brother to see if he could find a place for us to take his car. We had passed all the 24 hour places. So, we had to make several more stops to add more oil (he was leaking oil a little too fast). By this time I had gotten a cup for Jaxon. It was much easier way to keep him clean!
We finally made it to our destination and got unloaded. We had a long travel day ahead of us and had to get the car to get checked first thing in the morning, so we were ready for bed. However, Jaxon was bouncing off the walls in the hotel room. Thankfully, he went to sleep as soon as we laid him down!
Oh bless your hearts! We have had so many trips like that. I'm so sorry! Hope he got over it quickly. And that the car is okay. :)
ReplyDeleteHe kept such a good attitude! What a good boy!
