Last Thursday Husband and I started to make our way towards Colorado Springs to be a part of a crew helping do some projects on my grandmother's house. We sent Jaxon on the airplane with my parents earlier that day so it was one less car trip for him. We stayed in Amarillo that night and headed for Springs the next morning.
Jaxon did so good in the car. He is such a trooper. He made up a fun game of putting his snack bowl on his foot--he thought it was funny. He also enjoyed playing with this toy. We have very few noise-making toys and this is one of them. It plays music and the boy loves to dance!
We spent the weekend working (well I spent the weekend chasing Jaxon) on my grandmother's house. My wonderful husband and uncle did the wood floor--it looks great! My dad, mom, uncle, aunts, and cousin did a lot of work outside. Jaxon and I spent A LOT of time outside. He loved getting to play outside and it wasn't scorching hot like it has been here. He had a blast! Here are a few pictures of the projects being worked on.

Jaxon did so good--he slept (his naps) through some really LOUD noises. We stayed at a hotel and because we had two rooms, we all slept much better than our last hotel experience. :) Jaxon enjoyed the hotel and the toys that came with it!

Here is a 4 generation picture!
Husband, Jaxon, and I started our journey home Monday morning. Jaxon slept the first 2 hours and did great playing all the way to Amarillo. We had to switch cars in Amarillo (we had taken my parent's car to Colorado) and move everything back into our car. We let Jaxon run around for a bit at my dad's office and then headed for the final stretch home. About 15 minutes after we left his office, we pulled off the road because of a blown tire. NO FUN! Jaxon loved getting out of his seat and playing all over the front seats.

We sat for over 2 hours on the side of the road waiting for help. There was a mix-up with the insurance company. Husband could have changed the tire, but it was a dangerous area (and why don't semi-trucks move over a lane when someone is on the shoulder) so we waited for help.
Thank goodness we had some leftovers from lunch to feed Jaxon dinner and I had some snacks packed as well. By the time we were set to leave, Jaxon was so tired. He fell asleep within the first 5 minutes of getting back on the road.
We pulled into our driveway a little after 2:00 am. It was a long and tiring car ride. I was coming up with random questions and conversations to help husband stay awake.

What a wonderful thing for all of you to do for Betty! So sweet! And I love that there were a bunch of you working on things together. That makes it a lot of fun. The pictures are wonderful. :)
