Our latest news!

Several months ago (November to be exact), Mark was asked to move to Tulsa for his job. It wasn't immediately dissmissed by us because of the work schedule that Mark was going to have to transition into if he stayed here. We weighed the options, talked about it-A LOT, prayed about it, and decided that if Mark was going to get to be home when we had a new baby then moving to Tulsa was our best option.

He started going up there weekly in December. After being up there for about 2 weeks Mark came to me and said that he didn't know if staying with his current emloyer would allow him to be the husband he wanted to be or the father he wanted to be. It is a time demanding job and wasn't what he wanted for his family. So, he said that after he got through busy season, he would start looking for another job.

I am cotinuously amazed at how God works in our lives. Mark started looking for other job possibilities in March/April-ish and had a few interviews here and there. There was one position at a company that he was hoping would work out because of the relationship that he already had with some of the people that worked there. At the same time another wonderful opportunity came up and we were just praying for clarity between the 2 jobs. One of the jobs ended up not working out and so we had our clarity.

This job could not be more fit for what Mark's heart desired. It is very close to our house (in downtown FW). The required hours to be at the office are 9:00-5:00. His boss is an absolute God send and the other 2 people in the office are great as well! We couldn't be more excited and thankful for this opportunity.

He starts at the Kimbell Art Foundation on June 21st and will be managing some of their investments. Mark is excited and is looking forward to learning a variety of new skills.

He is very thankful for the skills that he has learned the past 5 years (at his current job). He says that he would have never been able to learn what he did if he hadn't been at that company. It was a great learning experience for him.

All that to say, we are not moving to Tulsa and since Mark has notified his current employer, I can spill the beans. And put pictures of our nursery up soon!!
